SJ Hodges is an accomplished writer with an MFA in Dramatic Writing from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, who has made her mark in both theatre and television. She’s an award-winning playwright, receiving numerous honors over the years, including the LA Weekly Annual Theatre Award for Playwriting in 2008 for How Cissy Grew. SJ's plays have been widely produced across the country and internationally, including Old Woman Flying and One Girl Drummer, the latter of which debuted in New York at City Lights Theatre. She's also an experienced television writer and producer, having worked for companies such as CBS Television Studios, NBC Universal, and AwesomenessTV. She was named the sole female winner of the Humanitas New Voices in TV Award in 2013, and is currently developing a pilot for CBS TV Studios. Apart from her writing career, SJ has also worked as a celebrity interviewer for Interview magazine and has written for A&E's popular Biography series. Additionally, SJ is an author, having co-authored three books, all of which have been published by major publishing houses such as Lyons Press, Random House and Barricade Books.
