Sven Gehlhaar

Sven Gehlhaar is a highly educated professional with a diverse and extensive background in Environmental Sciences, Development Studies, and Industrial/Business Engineering.

He obtained his MSc in Environmental Sciences from the Fraunhofer Academy, Wuppertal Institute, and FernUni in Hagen. Additionally, he pursued a MSc in Development Studies from Universidad del Valle, Guatemala, and a Diploma in Industrial/Business Engineering from the University of Applied Sciences of Heilbronn.

Sven has held key roles in several prominent organizations, including Swisscontact Foundation where he served as the Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean. He has also worked as a Country Director, Team Leader, and Programme Director at Swisscontact, demonstrating his extensive experience and leadership skills in the field of international development.

Prior to his tenure at Swisscontact, Sven Gehlhaar worked as a Project Manager at GITEC Consult GmbH, where he honed his expertise in project management and as a Deputy Team Leader and Financial Expert. He also served as a Branch Manager and Consultant at the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) - DED, showcasing his versatility and proficiency in various roles within the development sector.
