Paul Silber: Scientist, Angel Investor, and Entrepreneur

Paul Silber is an accomplished scientist, entrepreneur, and angel investor who has a passion for helping others appreciate the best attributes of capitalism. Silber attended Carleton College, where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Biology. He then pursued higher education and obtained a Master of Science in Public Health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a PhD in Pharmacology and Toxicology from the University of Arizona.

Silber has been involved in various organizations throughout his career, including Blu Ventures, Pax Momentum, USM Maryland Momentum Fund, and Baltimore Angels, where he served as a former advisory board member, angel investor, and board observer. With a keen interest in the biosciences, he served on the board of directors of Biotechnical Institute of Maryland and GBTC Biotech Roundtable.

Moreover, Silber is a leader in the business community in Maryland. He previously served as Commissioner for Maryland Economic Development Commission and was a member of the UMBC Business Advisory Board. He also served as President and CEO of In Vitro Technologies, and later, Celsis In Vitro Technologies, then StelSys, LLC. He now devotes his time as a partner at Blu Ventures and as an advisor/mentor at UMBC Activate program.

When not busy with his work, Silber indulges in his hobbies such as gardening, diving, and traveling frequently.
