Desai holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and has worked for leading banks and financial companies such as IDFC FIRST Bank, YES BANK, Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd, Citibank India, and Reliance Portfolio Management Services.

Desai's expertise includes private banking, channel sales, branch banking, priority banking, wealth management, investment and insurance counseling, and sales. Desai has served as a Zonal Head at IDFC FIRST Bank and previously worked as Senior Vice President and Regional Head West Private Banking at the same bank. Desai has also held leadership positions at Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd as Vice President and Circle Manager, Vice President & Area Manager (Cluster Head), and Associate Vice President & Branch Head.

Before joining Kotak Mahindra Bank, Desai worked as a Citigold Relationship Manager and Regional Wealth Head for Citibank India, where Desai helped clients with investment and insurance counseling.
