Katharine White MacPhail

Katharine MacPhail is an accomplished architect and educator who has spent over 25 years in the field. She is the CEO and principal architect at dEmios Architects, a thriving architectural firm in Massachusetts. With a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History, Criticism and Conservation from Mount Holyoke College, and a Master of Architecture from Southern California Institute of Architecture, MacPhail brings a deep understanding of both practical and theoretical approaches to her work.

MacPhail is an advocate for making architecture accessible to everyone. To that end, she hosts the podcast, Talking Home Renovations with the House Maven, where she interviews contractors, architects, vendors, and homeowners about all aspects of home renovation. She is also the founder of the Ask an Architect design help line, offering design assistance to homeowners, designers and contractors in Massachusetts. In addition, she teaches online courses such as Home Renovation Basics, Home Renovations on a Budget, Environmental Considerations in Home Renovation, and Home Renovation Design Studio.
