Cal Thixton is a seasoned veteran in the tech industry, boasting over 35 years of experience in networking, security, databases, web, mobile, and cloud technologies. Starting his career at the young age of 14, Thixton worked as a technician for a local video equipment manufacturing firm before joining the robotic materials handling engineering firm, CBSI, at 16 years old. After spending five years as Sun Microsystem's first field tech hire and eight years at NeXT Computers as the first field tech and billable consultant, Thixton was recruited by the ThoughtPort Authority to design, build, and manage a nationwide backbone for media services for the entertainment industry.

Thixton spent over 15 years acquiring and running regional B2B ISP's, data centers, and web design houses while simultaneously keeping a hand on the technical side of the house with ThoughtPort. In 1997, he assumed control and majority ownership of SpeedSite Online, which he continued to run as CEO until it was sold in 2011. Most recently, Thixton provides executive, board, and angel level consulting coordinating mobile, web, security, and cloud projects for domestic and international clients. His clients include Forbes, AOL, Burger King, and OMRON.

Thixton's education includes studying computing science at the University of Oklahoma. He has held various positions in organizations such as Director of Technology at 3Fams LLC, CIO at Alto.co, PM at JHMJLL inc., and President at ThoughtPort Authority of Chicago, Inc., SpeedSite OnLine, PowerWeb Connect. He has also worked as a consultant at Seebright and as a Technical Support Engineer/Consultant at Sun Microsystems and NeXT Computer.
