I was investigating the pathgenesis of Parkinson's Disease during my Ph.D. study using MPTP-induced mouse model, PD-like transgenic mouse model, as well as human PD patients' serum samples. Proteomic analysis was performed to compared the differenses in protein profiles in mouse brain samples with and without MPTP insult or in serum samples from PD patients and health age-matched controls. I have I identified several proteins that upregulated or downregulated specifically in MPTP-injected mouse brains or in PD patients' serum samples, compared to their controls.
