Colleen Brennan-Vandersteen is a seasoned Lean Architect who has been tirelessly working to disrupt wasteful practices that harm our environment. Her ultimate goal is to make the world a better place for future generations through resourceful, lean, and economically sustainable approaches. She is the CEO and founder of Save Our Planet Refillery Inc., a company merging wholesale volume to the retail level, which meets corporate credo to reduce carbon footprint, costs, and waste. Beyond that, Colleen is a mentor and Next Generation Leader (NGL) at the International Sustainable Development - Resource Centre in Geneva.

With over three decades of experience in the computer technology (IT) industry, Colleen Brennan-Vandersteen has worked for top-tier companies like Air Canada and IBM, where she earned two automation awards and an Employee of the Month award. Her work at IBM entailed serving as both a Network Operations Specialist and an enabler/Technology Specialist with a keen focus on telecommunications in the airline business. Her academic credentials include studying Computer Programming and Computer Systems at Red River Community College and grade 12 Business courses at St. John's High School.

Colleen's primary focus is leveraging Save Our Planet Refillery's technology to create a supply chain of savings that will significantly reduce global packaging waste while keeping production and operating costs down by 20%. Her company's technology allows her team to refill 17 containers with 16 different products within less than 15 minutes. SOP Refillery uses a refill system capable of dispensing up to 5 gallons of each item, with a control limit for each product to reduce wastage.

Colleen Brennan-Vandersteen is a 2015 Katerva Award Nominee for Global Sustainability, which is equivalent to a Nobel Prize. Her work on lean systems that provide greater value with fewer resources is widely appreciated worldwide. This inspirational leader has identified distribution as the root cause of global waste, not packaging, and firmly believes that companies that are equipped to serve their client's while minimizing waste are the ones that will survive the resource revolution.
