Designed and developed software products for the world's first consumer EEG headset. Software titles included Brain Visualizer (real-time visualization of brain activity), Mental Commands (detection of thought patterns to control objects on screen), and web, desktop, and mobile apps for Android and iOS. Much of my work dealt with neurofeedback, data visualization for behavior change, and platforms for crowd-sourced scientific research. 

 As the lead designer at Emotiv, I was responsible for imagining, prototyping, and user testing new products. I was asked to lead the creative development of software products for a completely new kind of hardware. As projects went live, I developed detailed specs and worked with in-house and outside development teams in a project management role. I worked closely with the CEO to identify new business opportunities, envision and plan the software ecosystem, and develop long-term growth strategies for the company.

Cotaught design classes for graduate students. Conducted innovation and creativity workshops in the US, India, Taiwan, and Bhutan. Developed functional digital prototypes for collaborative design work.

Stanford d.school

Lecturer & Designer

Partnered with IDEO, d.School, and Riverside School to develop and implement the world’s largest design contest for kids. The project has reached millions of users in more than 50 countries, and it won the 2011 Global Index Award for Design.
