Manufacturing & Process Engineer

- Design and implement custom test platforms and fixtures to analyze product images and conduct defect counting analysis for Material Review Board pass/fail criteria.  Design and code custom software in Mathematica and Python to analyze and correlate electrical performance of product to electroluminescence images.-Perform process optimization of laser and mechanical micromachining methods of thin-film CIGS photovoltaic material. Create experiments using Design of Experiment (DOE) methods and statistical data analysis using SAS JMP software.-Tool owner of multiple production level process tools. Responsibilities include: Next generation process development, SPC charts, calibration studies, tool documentation and procedures, technician training, and manage tool upgrades.  Work with equipment engineering team on multiple hardware upgrades and repairs.-Use statistical analysis and data mining to find root cause of defects and performance issues.  Significant experience in device and module failure analysis.-Project manager for new equipment from concept, prototype, to factory installation and qualification.-Laser Safety Officer – Ensure laboratory and facility adherence to ANSI standards.  Review and inspect new tool schematics to ensure proper personnel protection.

- Complete extensive initial process and hardware qualification on ALD high-K equipment in a semiconductor fabrication environment.  Tool setup involved extensive component assembly, wiring, safety checks, equipment calibration, robot teaching, and final equipment ramp up.-Troubleshoot electrical, hardware, and process issues in a high demand, fast paced environment.  Issues discovered were well documented, photographed, logged, and relayed to engineering HQ.-Using Python scripts, gather and analyze collected equipment data for process control and improvement.  Historical trends created and monitored for various processing conditions.-Create, maintain, and distribute tool documentation and work instructions to local equipment and engineering teams.  Documentation includes numerous tool procedures, chamber change documentation, work instructions, and material tracking.

- Optimized factory level processes utilizing SAS JMP & ANOVA .  -Maintained mechanical and optical components of production floor equipment while maximizing tool up-time.  -Extensive use of metrology tools for surface analysis of CIGS thin films, and significant experience in FMEA of device and module level thin films.

- Member of initial start-up engineering team to develop CIGS thin-film solar panel processing capabilities and scale from 150mm modules to 1.2m modules.-Developed core processes for monolithic interconnect involving laser and mechanical micro-machining. -Equipped, managed, and maintained extensive Class IV LASER research laboratory.  -Integrate, code, and trouble-shoot prototype platform processing equipment with various optical mechanical components to streamline experiments and substrate processing.  -Assisted in concept, design, and procurement of factory scaled equipment.
