-  Implemented two prototype systems to vastly improve EBS performance by exploiting distributed, solid state/memory caches for reads and shared, immutable data.
-  Developed a novel caching algorithm, filling in gaps between layers of OS caching involved in the EBS data path.

-  Invented novel procedure for detecting boot devices at operating system startup, subsequently patented.
