David Zong
David Zong, a passionate problem-solver in Synthetic Biology, is a leader with extensive experience bringing together multidisciplinary researchers to develop new insights. David was born in Seattle, Washington, completed his Bioengineering degree at the University of Washington, and later pursued his Systems, Synthetic, and Physical Biology Ph.D. at Rice University. He focused on putting parts together to design and build synthetic biological systems, leading the Rice iGEM team, and mentored others.
David's Ph.D. and postdoctoral research contributed to novel methods in Synthetic Biology, where he developed high-throughput methods and workflows to detect the SARS-CoV-2 virus in city wastewater. His research ignited his passion for the GEMM (Gut Endogenous Microbial Metabolism) platform, bringing him to Novome Biotechnologies. As a Scientist at Novome Biotechnologies, David is dedicated to researching health solutions using the GEMM platform.
