Ramiro Villapadierna is a seasoned Attaché at the Spanish Embassy in Germany with a passion for culture management and diplomacy. He currently heads the Frankfurt branch of Instituto Cervantes and leads the cluster of the European Union Network of Institutes of Culture. Villapadierna is an expert on Central Europe affaires, Nationalisms, Totalitarisms, and War Reporting. He has over 30 years of experience in foreign assignments as a flying correspondent, reporting extensively on the political, economic, and social transition in Center and East Europe. He has interviewed dozens of chiefs of State and Government, ministers, intellectuals, and artists, and has written more than 5,000 reports, articles, and analyses on Central Europe and the Balkans. Villapadierna is a musician, an ancien régime historian, a customary and law of arms expert, and a music critic. He is available for media comment and consultancy work in his fields of expertise.
