Hung Cao, PhD, is an accomplished electrical and electronics engineer with a diverse background that encompasses academic research, teaching and industry experience. He received his doctoral and master's degrees from The University of Texas at Arlington, and his bachelor's degree from Hanoi University of Science and Technology. Throughout his career, Cao has held various academic and research appointments, serving as an Assistant Professor at UC Irvine and the University of Washington, and as a Principle Investigator at the University of Washington's School of Medicine. Cao also served as a Scientist at UCLA Health, and as a Research Associate at the University of Southern California. He is currently a Co-Founder at Sensoriis, a company that develops technologies that help clinicians optimize the treatment of patients with neurological disorders.
Cao's research focuses on the design and development of sensors, signal processing algorithms and systems that improve patient outcomes and advance our understanding of the brain. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering, Journal of Neural Engineering and Journal of Neuroscience Methods. As an educator, Cao has taught courses in electronics, circuits and systems, and biomedical engineering.
