Fred Brown, a highly experienced non-profit leader and educator, is the current President and CEO of The Forbes Funds, a Pittsburgh-based organization that empowers non-profit organizations by providing resources, education, and tools to increase their impact and sustainability. He started his career in the public education sector, having served as a Dean of Students and school teacher in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. He studied Art Teacher Education and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He later finished a Master of Social Work in Community Organization and Advocacy and is currently working towards a Doctoral Degree in Social Work/Master of Public Health from the University of Pittsburgh.

Apart from his current role at The Forbes Funds, Mr. Brown has previously held several leadership positions, including serving as President and CEO of Homewood Children’s Village, an Associate Director of Program Development at The Kingsley Association, and an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Social Work at Johnson C. Smith University.
