• Designed electrical ground support equipment (EGSE) for Titan environment (-180°C and 1.5atm) life testing of the pneumatic transfer system for Dragonfly mission
     • Designed and validated harnesses to integrate pressure transducers, silicon diode and PRT temperature sensors, 1kW blower, feed actuator and heaters
     • Investigated and resolved shielding and grounding issues to improve signal integrity
• Designed avionics card for controlling R&D optical probe, including SOM selection and carrier board design for USB 3.0 communication and image processing, MCU selection for analog interface, adjustable current driver (with 0.1% accuracy), signal conditioning for RTD measurement, and load switches for heater control
• Wrote procedures for design validation and verification testing, carried out testing in cleanroom, and debugged failures for qualification and flight avionics PCBs for lunar drills (PRIME-1 and VIPER)

Electrical Engineer III

• Designed, validated and managed initial production of electrical components of 90kW power panels for powering 20,000 underwater lights
     • Optimized PCB layout and LTspice model for Half-Bridge 400Y VAC/50Hz to 28 VDC, 1.5kW water-cooled power supply 
     • Performed thermal, loop gain, transient load, short circuit, and conducted emissions testing and adjusted design to meet requirements
     • Selected transformer manufacturer after testing samples and providing feedback to improve thermal performance and ease of assembly
     • Designed and built 6kW resistive load bank and 90kW halogen bulb load bank to test stability of design
• PCB layout and troubleshooting of various metal core LED boards and RS-485 control boards

• Designed and built working prototype for a battery powered biomedical device that would automatically release a fluid after 24 or 48 hours
     • Modeled and 3D printed the mechanical components; designed, assembled and programmed the circuit board

• Work with two Grad ID students to design, build, brand, and drive an RC car using two servos and a 16’ rubber band

• Innovative design improvements included rubber in-frame suspension, low center of gravity, design simplification and modular replacement which allowed for quick fixes during race, feathered disc brake system on direct drive 

• Built two prototypes and final car using machine shop tools, foam core, plywood, delrin, carbon fiber, rubber, 3D printed plastic, modified RC car parts, and readily available hardware

Electrical design (part selection, schematic capture, layout) of a modular Li-ion battery charger capable of charging with 1.5A up to 4.35V. Design included switching regulator, charging IC (MP2637), thermistor feedback, and LED indication of charging and fully charged

• Create test procedures and test kits in order to streamline and improve quality of PCB testing

Test Engineer

• Created a mass balance model to determine the concentrations of contaminants and the flow rate of effluent which would be emitted from a 100 TPD emissions-to-liquid renewable methanol plant. 

• Coordinated with several suppliers to develop turnkey solutions for treatment of effluent to be reused as cooling tower make-up water. 

• Designed a feasibility study which compared two feasible options for effluent treatment – anaerobic and aerobic – including class 3 estimate of capital and operating expenditures.

• Collaborated with superintendent to review design drawings and develop them into construction work plans, which I then presented to the client for approval. 

• Documented and reported on progress of construction, performed quality checks in the field and communicated with the crew to ensure we had the proper tools, equipment and material to complete the work. 

• Focused on waterline and storm drain relocations, including a 16” Steel Water Line across Mulholland Bridge, 36” Steel Water Line across Sunset Bridge, 18” RCP Storm Drain and several fire hydrants.

Kiewit

Utilities Field Engineer

Constructed a bio-sand filter and tested water from the filter at different depths to investigate the mechanisms of general disinfection and arsenic removal. Our project won first place in the Engineering category for the USC “Undergraduate Symposium for Scholarly and Creative Work”

Interpreted design drawings and developed spreadsheets to estimate costs of projects we were bidding on, including total formwork, rebar, concrete volume, finishing and sandblasting 
Worked on estimating for traditional and design-build projects, including construction of a bridge, extension of a wharf, and replacement of a central utilities plant.
