Catalina Ausin is a seasoned, bilingual producer and cinematographer known for her documentary work in social and cultural themed films. Her passion for filmmaking stems from the desire to tell heartfelt stories through the power of film. With over a decade of experience in various types of filmmaking, including documentary, commercial, music videos, fiction, and experimental film, Catalina has honed her skills in cinematography and storytelling. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cinema Production from USC and pursued Post Baccalaureate Studies in Cinematography and Photography at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague.

Being Mexican-American, she has a multicultural and bilingual background, which has allowed her to connect with diverse communities in her work. She has worked with autistic children, at-risk youth, LGBTQ, Asian immigrant children, African American teens, Latin American young adults, and indigenous Mayan women in Chiapas. She has also mentored young filmmakers, teaching them the craft and sharing her passion for filmmaking.

Catalina's professional experiences include working as a lead assistant editor at Netflix and Lucy Walker Films, technical advisor at the New York Film Academy, gaffer at Lions Gate Films, director of photography at Silvercloud Productions, and personal assistant to music video and film director Simon Brand. She has also been a part of several organizations, such as Freelance Filmmaker, The Mary Pickford Institute for Film Education, and Film Independent.

Catalina's current focus is her ongoing documentary work in Chiapas, Mexico, where she has gained the trust of indigenous Mayan elders and documented sacred ceremonies never before captured on film. Her transparency and people skills enable her to connect with people and tell their stories authentically through the lens of a camera.
