John Athayde is a versatile and experienced professional with a diverse background in design, strategy, music, print, architecture, visual effects/film, and software engineering. With a Bachelor of Science and a Masters in Architecture from Catholic University of America, John has excelled in design in all major media channels, being an active individual contributor. He has held various leadership positions such as VP of design at PowerFleet Inc., Partner at Meticulous, LLC, and VP of design at I.D. Systems, among others.

John is talented at creating consensus among senior leadership and then leading design teams to meet business objectives. He builds teams of internal resources, contractors, and consultants to effectively tackle challenges swiftly and effectively. His skills in speaking on UX and front-end development topics have gained him recognition in the industry. John is a semi-professional musician, having once opened for Coldplay. He lives with his wife and their four children on their permaculture farm outside of Charlottesville.
