Blake Tyson is an accomplished percussionist, educator, and scholar with extensive experience in music performance and literature. He holds a DMA in Music Performance and Literature from the prestigious Eastman School of Music and has also studied at Kent State University. Currently, he is an Associate Professor of Percussion at the University of Central Arkansas, where he shares his expertise with students and contributes to the renowned percussion program.

Throughout his career, Blake has received numerous awards and accolades, including the Percussive Arts Society (PAS) International Composition Contest, the University of Oklahoma Percussion Composition Contest, and the International Horn Society Composition Contest. In addition to his teaching and scholarly work, he remains an active performer, composer, and clinician, conducting masterclasses and workshops across the country.

As a progressive artist, Blake is always exploring new approaches and techniques to percussion performance and composition. His extensive background, experience, and passion for contemporary music make him a valuable addition to the percussion community.
