Edited the Frontline episode, A SUBPRIME EDUCATION, with Rain Media about the for-profit college industry. The episode investigates the many controversies and criminal behavior surrounding several of the largest for-profit schools in America.

Edited a half hour episode with director Sam Pollard for a series about police violence against the African-American community across the United States. THE TALK goes into the lives of several victims or families of victims of police violence, and also explores a law enforcement training facility in South Carolina that focuses on how to deal with the real dangers of policing without violating the human and civil rights of innocent civilians. Broadcast early 2017.

The Talk

Recently completed a feature length documentary, SACRED, with Academy Award-winning director Thomas Lennon. The film is the result of a collaboration of over 40 film making teams around the world, and follows as many characters including inmates at Angola prison in Louisiana, a boy in a Pakistani orphanage displaced by suicide bombings and war, and survivors of Ebola in Sierra Leone. The stories are told through intimate audio interviews instead of narration. It will broadcast and play theatrically in 2017.

PBS Thirteen - Sacred

KNIFE SKILLS follows several formerly incarcerated men and women through a pioneering re-entry program at a five-star French restaurant in Cleveland. Both Nick and Academy Award-winning director Thomas Lennon were awarded the 2016 Soros Open Society Fellowship to complete the film.  KNIFE SKILLS won the audience award at the Traverse City Film Festival in July, and was nominated for the 2018 Academy Awards.

THE RUINS OF LIFTA is a feature length documentary by award-winning directors Menachem Daum and Oren Rudavsky. LIFTA is a film about memory and reconciliation, and follows the friendship of an Orthodox Jewish man from Brooklyn and a Palestinian man from East Jerusalem whose childhood village of Lifta is in danger of being destroyed.Through Lifta, Menachem rethinks the mega narratives that drive Palestinians and Jews, and he confronts the dark side of a family hero. The film played in theaters to critical acclaim, and holds a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.

COLLIDING DREAMS tells the full story of Zionism - its origins through the present day Middle East tragedy.  The film recently finished a theatrical run to very positive reviews.  It includes over 30 interviews with the most celebrated writers, activists, and intellectuals from Israel and the West Bank.

Edited a half hour episode for the WGBH series, "America By The Numbers."The character-driven piece explores the veterans on the island of Guam who have fought for the US Army at disproportionately high enlistment and casualty rates, and yet receive little to no treatment for various PTSD and neuropsychological disorders. Will air Fall 2014.

Produced and edited a documentary about an expedition of renowned artists and scientists who set out along the Alaskan coast to bring attention to the global threat of marine debris.  The film features artists Pam Longobardi and Mark Dion, and is featured on National Geographic Magazine online.The film will be accompanied by a traveling exhibition sponsored by Smithsonian, showcasing the works of art created from the debris collected during the expedition.

The documentaries explore the highly skilled handmade craftsmanship behind the modern ABC carpet, the mogul inspired jewelry designed and crafted by The Gem Palace for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the transformative Japanese ingredient, Pitera.

Wrote and edited over 15 documentary video installations for inclusion in the Museum of Jewish History and Tolerance Center which opened in Moscow in November 2012. The project was done under the auspices of Ralph Appelbaum Associates, the largest museum design firm in the world.  Films include: Several biographical documentaries; WWI and the Russian Revolution, The Great Patriotic War, a 20-minute, 130ft panoramic installation about the war on the eastern front; Forest Memories, a 45-minute, three-screen installation about the Refuseniks.

The feature length documentary about birders and bird migration in New York City's Central Park stars author Jonathan Franzen and premiered in the documentary competition at the 2012 South by Southwest Film Festival.  It broadcast on HBO in 2012 to very positive reviews, and is currently being adapted into a children’s book.

Edited two documentaries about Michael Burry (24 minutes) and Michelle Rhee (48 minutes) that appeared on Bloomberg TV's Risktakers.  The episodes were made under the direction of Academy Award nominated filmmaker Oren Jacoby.

Directed and edited the feature documentary "The Swell Season", a music filled love story about Academy Award winning musicians Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova. The film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2011 to very positive reviews and has since won international awards and was distributed theatrically both domestically and internationally.

Taught undergraduate students courses in film production and cinema history and theory.  Production class was a practical approach to all aspects of mise-en-scene, writing, and editing.  The history and theory class surveyed international cinema beginning with the Lumiere Brothers' first documentary wide shots and went through the fast paced editing styles seen in contemporary films like "City of God."
