Luke Miller is a UX Design Director at National Geographic with a demonstrated history of working in the design industry. He began his career at The Wall Street Journal, where he worked as a Jr UX Architect and later moved on to become a Sr User Experience Architect, Mobile Lead. In 2013, Luke contributed to the formation of the new Yahoo mobile product office in New York, where he worked as a UX Researcher and Experience Designer, primarily prototyping and researching various media properties. During this time, he also started teaching UX classes at General Assembly and Parsons — which eventually led to his first book, The Practitioner's Guide to User Experience Design, being published by Grand Central.

Luke's educational background includes an MS in Information Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a BA in English Theory & Criticism from the University of Florida. For several years, he taught as an Adjunct Professor at American University and was the Lead UX Immersive Instructor at General Assemb.ly before returning to industry work.

Some of Luke's expertise lies in user research, user experience design, interaction design, usability testing, prototyping, and teaching. Today, he lives, works, and teaches in Washington DC.
