Paddy Bird is a highly experienced broadcast editor with over twenty years of experience in the television industry. He has worked with prestigious broadcasters such as the BBC, Channel 4, ITV, Discovery Channel, National Geographic, PBS, The Smithsonian Channel, ABC, and CBC. Paddy has worked on acclaimed formats such as X Factor, Big Brother, Wife Swap, and Secret Millionaire while also editing high-end documentaries on politics, history, and observations. He has even worked in hostile environments like Iraq, where he edited news stories. Paddy’s work has been showcased on respected television strands such as America’s NOVA science films and Britain’s award-winning documentary series Cutting Edge.

In 2012, Paddy established Inside The Edit, which offers a first-of-its-kind creative editing course aimed at those working or wishing to work in narrative-based TV. He is a member of the BAFTA Editing Chapter and has a wealth of experience teaching Final Cut Pro and Avid at Soho Editors, the largest post-production training center in Europe. He has taught numerous professionals from production companies and broadcasters worldwide.
