Barak Krakauer is a highly educated data scientist who specializes in natural language processing tasks. With a background in philosophy, he has a unique skill set that combines data-driven and quantitative methods with strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. His philosophy education allows him to approach problems in a holistic and careful way that ensures the insights and predictions he extracts from the data are valid and useful. Prior to becoming a data scientist, Krakauer was a lecturer at UC Santa Cruz and a PhD student at the University of Massachusetts. After completing his degree, he worked in administration at UC Berkeley and the Academic Senate. His love of data analytics and data science, combined with his passion for communication and problem solving, drew him to become a data science fellow at Galvanize, an IBM data scientist, and then finally a data scientist at Levi Strauss & Co.
