Kristian Swearingen

Kristian Swearingen is a highly skilled Senior Research Scientist at the Institute for Systems Biology. With an extensive background in Analytical Chemistry and Biochemistry, Kristian is a leading expert in Plasmodium, the malaria parasite, and the transmission stages of sporozoites and gametocytes. He has a wealth of experience in mass spectrometry of proteins, high field asymmetric waveform ion mobility spectrometry (FAIMS), capillary electrophoresis, high performance liquid chromatography, laser-induced fluorescence detection, and instrumentation development.

Kristian obtained his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry/Biochemistry, followed by his Master of Science in Chemistry at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Subsequently, he pursued his Doctor of Philosophy in Bioanalytical Chemistry at the University of Washington, where he was also a graduate student. Kristian has authored several publications and has been acknowledged for his contribution to multiple research projects.
