Luiz Felipe Ribeiro is a tech polymath who has achieved professional success in various areas of computing, ranging from gaming and graphics programming to information security, AI, and IoT integration. A native of Brazil, Luiz has a Doctor of Science degree in Engineering from the prestigious Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, where he also served as a researcher in visual computing. Moreover, he has co-founded various innovative startups, including Displace, where he served as Chief Technology Officer and CEO.

Luiz began his journey in computing by tinkering with Atari and Commodore 64 consoles as a child. He later ventured into game programming while studying in high school in the mid-1990s. However, financial struggles and the responsibilities of fatherhood made it challenging to pursue a career in game development. Still, he used his resourcefulness to work day jobs while learning new skills and networking with professionals to create viable opportunities.

In his quest for a stable career, Luiz diversified his technical knowledge by taking courses in information systems management and business administration. He also spent several years working in information security for both public and private institutions. Later, he took a leave of absence from his Ph.D. program to work as a BizDev consultant for an international group where he gained immense experience in IoT integration and other emerging technologies.

Today, Luiz is passionate about promoting innovation and collaboration between academia and industry through his role as the coordinator of Inova CCMN. He is also exploring new avenues to apply his knowledge of AI, VR, and AR in fields such as scientific computing and education.
