Keeping up with those publishing code enhancements for Python 3, and those discussing good Pythonic habits. Diving in to AWS Hyperledger capabilities and new products. A confidential client opened up some new areas to me and some that I've wanted to do for a while. I took my own firm's time for training in Exabeam and Tensorflow, then Tensorflow with Attention parallelized models. Cybersecurity is a great area for ML, AI and data science. Also, access to Splunk and Phantom will help down the road with AI and ML for Cyber. Exposure to Power BI Desktop and Report Builder was excellent except for lacking Azure or AWS for scale and ease of access to some of the internal data areas. I had spoken with Sirius before this private engagement, but understand now that their ever-expanding role in the threat and vulnerability spaces. In the past, an industry CyberTech CyberOps leader, who I met at an enterprise architecture conference in Dallas, provided insight about Cofense for phishing attacks. In this recent confidential arrangement, Cofense was a key player.

Beacon Hill was kind enough to engage my services as the first Data Architect in GM's GBS AIMD, which unfortunately was dismantled shortly after the life-changing Tsunami, a week later on March 21st. At least, I was able to sign the Book of Condolences at the Japanese Embassy in the 400 Tower before leaving GM.Thanks to Jim Collison's leadership, I played a key role as the first ever at GM to build a proof of concept for Tableau Web Server, I was involved in future data architecture and enterprise data warehousing planning both for Jim's space in HR and for Ron LaPlatt's space in Finance. I was in the planning phase of data modeling an HR data warehouse in ERwin 7.3.10 and in eventually in ERwin 8. I reviewed group data models with CA ERwin Data Validator. Also, from a Cognos 8 BI perspective, I was engaged in assisting a project in trouble due to architectural considerations with the Business Layer and with the Framework Manager and data modeling in general. As per my BI network, extremely talented original Cognos Architects from IBM guided me on key helpful considerations for these challenging projects. For JPMorgan Chase, I built and tuned a complete z990 z/Linux UDB DB2 v.8.1 environment for an engineering team. The subject area was a Tivoli custom-built, fine-grained performance enterprise data warehouse. In addition, I provided an architectural, technical and organizational analysis of the end-to-end z/Linux environment. From this analysis, I provided a clear troubleshooting path of the new environment for the mid-range production support team. As part of this analysis, I provided an ITIL risk assessment of the teams involved for my internal customer in the mid-range performance space. To set the delivery bar higher, I identified and formally presented to my client, a vendor that introduced SuSE and the German SuSE team to the US and to IBM. I provided verification tests during the upgrades from Linux 2.4 to Linux 2.6 in the form of SuSE 8 to SuSE 9, and verification of the upgrade of z/VM 4.4 to z/VM 5.1. I provided formal benchmarks and analyses of z/VM networking components, OSPF & MPROUTE, and benchmarks of IFL performance metrics for CPU and I/O bound applications. I also provided mapping from the long-term architecture strategy to the z/Linux strategy. Finally, I provided analysis for current Tivoli DB2 UDB databases at 7.2 through 8.2 levels. The talented team invented the custom data warehouse and wrote the efficient DB2 SQL in Perl. McDonnell-Douglas trained in Artificial Intelligence and Expert Systems for six months. Lead E&Y Navigator Analysis phase principal for canonical modeling and for accommodating the innovator's functional decomposition approach, by bringing in Relational Data Associates from Boston for training. Core systems: Finance, Claims, Membership, Pharmacy, Dental, Customer Service, Underwriting. Part of re-engineering effort for legacy systems to distributed systems. Led and paid for the introduction of a full SAS product platform, which later immediately satisfied the direction of a Senior VP of Value Management and an Epidemiologist for a new product strategy heavily involving SAS for screens, transactions, surveys, data connection to all live systems which I delivered, thanks the prior three month product system introduction direct support from the CIO, in 6 weeks, and VP Ann Saladino requested. IT wanted 2 years to deliver the same capability.
