Marianne Hughes
Marianne Hughes is a graduate student who is deeply engrossed in researching the intersectional study of fashion as a representation of culture, history, values, politics, and art. Her academic pursuits delve into costume studies, cultural production, fashion curation, and the symbolism of clothing as a means of soft power and social commentary.
Marianne has pursued a diverse educational background with a Master's Candidate in Fashion Studies from Parsons School of Design - The New School, a Master's in International Relations and Affairs from the University of Denver, a Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies and French with Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa honors from the University of Denver, and she excelled academically in high school with a 4.27 GPA, earning the title of Valedictorian at Elizabeth High School.
