Gary Gione is a 9th dan black belt in various martial arts including Kenpo Karate, Jun Bao Kung Fu, and Ju Jitsu. He is a certified personal trainer and an expert in hand-to-hand combat and personal protection. With over 20 years of experience with the NYPD, Gary has supervised more than 5,000 arrests and trained many police officers and correctional officers. He has also taught Navy Seals and has appeared in various television shows and training films. Gary is the president of Elite Defensive Tactics, a company that he founded more than 22 years ago.

Gary studied Criminal Justice at John Jay College, and his vast experience in combat and law enforcement led him to become a top-notch instructor and expert in personal protection. He has also pursued advanced courses such as ASP Baton, Criminal Investigation, Verbal Judo, and more. Through his extensive training, he has gained a wealth of expertise in various aspects of self-defense using both traditional martial arts and tactical training.
