Raj Kumar

Raj Kumar is a highly experienced Computer Scientist and Machine Learning Engineer based in New York. With an impressive background in Computer Science, Raj Kumar studied at Columbia University where he obtained his MS and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, and at Indian Institute Of Technology where he obtained his B.Tech in Engineering.

Raj has held several senior positions in various companies such as Spotify, HookLogic, Inc., kikin Inc., SEMplest LLC, and Bell Communications Research (Telcordia Technologies) to name a few. At Spotify, Raj is currently heading the effort to make predictions and recommendations on a record-setting ten thousand records per second stream.

With a broad range of expertise in Systems, Software, Distributed-Computing, Machine Learning, Data Pipelines, Video and Image Analysis, Computer Networking, Computer Systems, Video Streaming and Codecs, Web Development, Parallel analysis of large data-sets, Raj is a specialist in Computer Algorithms, AWS, and Spark. He has led multiple Machine Learning teams and enjoys creative solutions that are tailored to fit the problem.
