Chuck Berg is a highly experienced and accomplished senior level software developer and team leader with a strong track record in building award-winning products and services for various markets. He brings with him over several years of professional experience working with a range of technical tools, systems, languages, and industries. Berg is a business-savvy technologist, competent and creative engineering professional, and self-motivated problem solver, decision maker and leader. He has worked in several organization types from startup to Fortune 100 companies, non-profit to venture-funded ones. He has a proven ability to build cohesive teams out of developers working remotely in different locations and time zones. Berg is highly skilled in Microsoft technologies and has been recognized as a Microsoft MVP.
Berg's technical highlights include managing the development of MailSite® - Windows & .NET Magazine’s 2002 Readers' Choice Award for Best Mail Server as well as developing the process control industry's first object-oriented client/server process animation display system.
As for management, Berg has a history of stabilizing and rebuilding engineering and IS/IT teams recently downsized from 48 people to 16. He played a major role in the merger of two non-profit professional organizations and the building of a unified staff/volunteer team.
On the business front, Berg led the engineering contribution to the turn-around and successful sale of a casino gaming equipment manufacturer. In just two years, he was able to build a one-man consulting business into a profitable contract development company employing 7 full-time and 5 contract developers. He has maintained technical leadership and provided "hands-on" development effort on 75 different Windows products, using a range of Microsoft technologies, for 35 different clients. He has also helped raise several million dollars in seed capital for four different startup companies.
Berg studied MEE, Electrical Engineering & Computer Science, 3.8/4.0 average at the University of Delaware, and BSEE in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, & Math, with a 3.8/4.0 average at the University of Missouri - Rolla.
