Entale is a new media startup that produces a technology platform to revolutionise the production, discovery and listening experience of podcasts and other audio content.

I Co-Founded the company and took on the role of Tech Lead in July 2017, when it was spun out of the Founders Factory Incubator.

The Entale platform allows content creators to quickly and easily create and distribute podcasts, adding proprietary levels of rich media and metadata that take the listening and discovery experience to a new level for end-users, including context-sensitive content that users can engage with while listening.

Additionally, Entale publishers get levels of data and engagement metrics not previously available, bringing best in class web technologies to the audio experience.

Entale was developed within the media incubator at Founders Factory, a tech accelerator and incubator founded by Brent Hoberman and Henry Lane Fox, and backed by Guardian Media Group.

We build products from scratch with our specialist incubation team of engineers, product managers and designers. We then staff and launch those products as fully fledged businesses.

Positioned at the very heart of the global tech community, we will build and scale over 200 early stage technology companies across multiple sectors over the next five years.

I provided engineering support to the incubator with responsibility for developing web and mobile products and architecting novel solutions to complex problems.

I spent time working across the whole software stack which runs <a href="http://mangahigh.com">mangahigh.com</a>: from front-end developer all the way down to system operations.

Working as as generalist in an agile team, I:
-  Worked extensively on the front-end of our new student experience, built from the ground-up as a cross-device single-page JavaScript application.
-  Extended our RESTful/HATEOAS API to provide data for the new single-page application front-end (PHP/Behat/RAML).
-  Redeveloped release tools to provide one-button, repeatable deployments to streamline QA and production releases (Bash/Ansible).
-  Updated developer tools and environments to more closely emulate our live infrastructure and improve developer workflow.
-  Containerised our complete (micro-service based) software stack using Docker.
-  Updated and maintained the build process across a number of projects.
-  Improved monitoring, including writing status daemons to monitor microservices, to stream line deployments and push metrics to our platform dashboards.
-  Lead developer facilitating migration of infrastructure from our previous hosting provider into Amazon Web Services (AWS).
