ACE-E was a national charity comprised with an all volunteer board, that worked with schools in low income areas.  We provided mentors to students for weekly mentoring.  Mentors assisted students with school work, personal life issues and an ACE-E sponsored project that when completed the student was awarded a laptop.  ACE-E's final support of the students was to assist them with college and scholarship and grant applications.As Chairman of the Board it was my responsibility to ensure that ACE-E is able to meet it's mission by working with the various committees to ensure we had effective planning and utilization of resources, both human capital and financial.  Donations is the life blood of any charity.  To ensure adequate resources I worked with the Finance, Fund Raising, Operations and Public Relations committee chairs to evaluate our current programs and identified future areas for growth.  We then established a benchmark to gauge our performance and to monitor and evaluate the results.In working with committee chairs we identified multiple areas where additional support/resources was needed.   To meet these needs we created multiple ad-hoc committees to support and ensure adequate financial resources are available and predictable.  Worked closely with Finance Committee to protect assets and provide proper financial oversight.  Engaged with each trustee member to find out how they saw their role and what value they could bring to ACE-E.  Made recommendations for new board members for approval by the sitting trustees.Always at the forefront was to ensure that the legal and ethical integrity of ACE-E and all of its board members, employees and mentors always met the highest of standards.
