William Murphy is a seasoned strategic alliance and business development leader, with a distinguished record of success in performing these roles for venture-backed SaaS companies, commanding over 10 years' experience. He is an astute Marine Corps infantry officer who has honed his teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills. Mr Murphy is an alumnus of NYU Stern School of Business (Master of Business Administration - MBA), the McIntire Business Institute at the University of Virginia (Business Certificate), Trinity College-Hartford (Bachelor of Arts, History), and St. Albans School. He is currently the Vice President – Technology Alliances at BigID, responsible for strategy, account management and partner acquisition for technology alliances. Before joining BigID, he served in several leadership capacities with Metalogix Software, including Program Manager, Public Sector Programs; Director, Sales Enablement; Director, Business Development; Recurring Revenue Account Manager and Business Development Representative. Mr Murphy played a vital role securing a triumphant bid to encompass VIPRE Security as Director of Business Development, resulting in its successful acquisition by j2 Global. Additionally, he worked as an intern at ABC News, Nightline, and Commonwealth Consultants.
