Jim Cope is an accomplished professional in the commercial real estate industry, currently serving as the Executive Vice President at Walker & Dunlop, where he leads the Capital Markets business unit. With over 600 transactions and more than 100 capital sources under his belt, he has established himself as an expert in placing capital for income-producing properties, including office, apartments, hotels, industrial, and retail nationwide. His responsibilities also include overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Capital Markets teams located in Milwaukee and Madison, Wisconsin, and Chicago, Illinois.

Jim's career in the commercial real estate industry has spanned over three decades. Before joining Walker & Dunlop, he was the Senior Vice President of Grandbridge Real Estate Capital, where he specialized in originating and structuring commercial real estate financing for all property types. During his five years at Collateral, he served as Managing Director, while he originated and placed construction, bridge, mezzanine, and permanent loans and equity for clients across the country. Prior to this, he spent ten years with Eberhardt Company, where he was responsible for all aspects of real estate origination, placement, and closing of debt and equity transactions, as well as the management of the office.

Jim holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and a Master of Science in Real Estate Appraisal and Investment Analysis from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is also a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), the Wisconsin Real Estate Alumni Association, Young Presidents Organization, and NAIOP.
