Sade Elhawary is a seasoned community organizer and education advocate with more than 10 years of experience in the field. With a Bachelor of Arts degree in Afro-American Studies and Sociology Concentration and an Education Minor from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a Master of Education degree in Secondary History from the Harvard University Graduate School of Education, she has dedicated her career to issues of educational access and equity. Her passion for academic excellence and opportunity for underserved communities, dismantling the school to prison pipeline, and promoting a college-going culture has led her to work directly with students as a college counselor, social justice educator, and mentor. Sade has served in significant roles throughout her career, including Director of Strategic Initiatives at Community Coalition, Founder at Destined 2 Fly, Social Justice Educator at Nelson Mandela School for Social Justice, Associate Director of Postsecondary Planning at NYC Department of Education, Lead Organizer at Community Coalition, and Project Director at Children's Defense Fund Freedom Schools.
