Jerry Root is a respected professor, C.S. Lewis scholar, and evangelism expert. With a PhD in Philosophy of Religion and many years of experience teaching at Wheaton College and Talbot Graduate School of Theology, he has become a leading authority on topics such as spiritual formation, discipleship, and the surprising imagination of C.S. Lewis. He is also the Director of the Institute for Strategic Evangelism at the Billy Graham Center at Wheaton College, where he offers guidance and instruction to students interested in evangelism and leadership.

Root's published works include the award-winning The Quotable C.S. Lewis and The Surprising Imagination of C.S. Lewis, which he co-wrote with Mark Neal. In addition to his impressive academic credentials, Root is actively involved in the ministry, having served as the College Pastor at College Church in Wheaton. He and his wife, Claudia, have four grown children and are proud grandparents of thirteen grandchildren.
