Giannina Segnini is a renowned investigative journalist and educator with over two decades of experience in the field. She currently serves as the Knight Chair and Director of the Data Journalism Degree at Columbia Journalism School, where she oversees the training and development of the next generation of data-driven journalists. Previously, Segnini led the Investigative Unit at La Nación, where her team's groundbreaking work was responsible for exposing numerous criminal cases involving politicians, businessmen, and officials in Latin America.

Segnini is also a highly sought-after trainer, consultant, and speaker on investigative and database journalism, having trained hundreds of journalists in Latin America, the US, Europe, and Asia. She has worked with a diverse range of clients, including media organizations such as O Globo and Folha de São Paulo, academic institutions like Columbia University, and international organizations like the United Nations Development Programme and the Inter American Press Association.

Segnini's expertise in data journalism has also earned her a place on the grand jury for the first Global Award on Data Journalism, hosted by the Global Editors Network and Google. She is a frequent speaker at international conferences, including the Global Investigative Journalism Conference and the International Anti-Corruption Conference held by Transparency International.
