Alan Pollard

Alan Pollard is the CEO of The Vitality Group, an accomplished leader in the global insurance industry with a background in actuarial science and statistics.

He studied at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, achieving a Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science and gaining qualification as an actuary in 1993 while working at a prominent Life insurance company in South Africa.

In 1994, Alan Pollard joined Discovery, a burgeoning health insurance company at the time, and became a pivotal figure in its growth over the next 19 years, helping transform it into a major global player with a customer base exceeding 6 million.

He played a crucial role in establishing Vitality, a groundbreaking wellness program offered by Discovery, which has expanded to operate in five countries, making it the largest and most enduring wellness program globally.

Relocating to the United States in 2012, Alan undertook the position of President and CEO of The Vitality Group, the US subsidiary of Discovery, while also maintaining his presence on the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of Discovery, a publicly traded company on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.

Alan Pollard resides in New Jersey, where he lives with his spouse and three children.
