Saravanan Shanmugam is a talented software engineer with over a decade of experience in end-to-end web development. Known for his expertise in building and managing highly scalable websites, Saravanan has worked on several platforms including eBay, Wal-Mart, LocalCircles, ChefHost, and Altflo. With extensive day-to-day fun startup experience through Altflo and ChefHost, Saravanan is the co-founder of both platforms and played a significant role as the CTO. He was the first employee at LocalCircles, where he worked as Senior Software Engineer. He worked at Walmart.com as Software Engineer III and at eBay as a consultant.

Well-versed in the best practices of web security, Saravanan has specialized knowledge of using different frontend frameworks like jQuery, ExtJS, AngularJS, ReactJS, BackboneJS, dustJS, Twitter bootstrap, MithrilJS, etc. Throughout his career, he has developed REST services for eBay retail promotions platform, used by various marketing channels and serves ~10M hits-per-day. He loves building microservices using GraphQL and is an expert in building highly scalable backend applications using NodeJS, ExpressJS & MongoDB.

Saravanan has also worked closely with cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Amazon AWS, RedHat OpenShift, and other cloud-based services. He studied BE, Mechanical at GCE, Salem, and later pursued his education at SRV, Rasipuram, Namakkal, India.
