Charles Austen Angell is a renowned industrial designer and founder and CEO of Modern Edge Inc. based in Portland, Oregon. He is also an active board member of various organizations like Health Technology Collaborative, Design Museum Portland, Design Museum Boston and has previously served as Chair Emeritus and Chair of the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA).

With his expertise in design management, program management, human factors and ethnographic research, product positioning, and service design, Charles Angell directs projects for corporate clients in sectors like health and wellness, home products, digital mobility, and vehicle innovation, among others. Before founding Modern Edge, Inc., he served as the Corporate Director of Design Research and Innovation for Intel where he managed new product development, category development, and market expansion for organizations such as John Deere, BMW, SC Johnson Wax, Sunbeam, and others.

Angell studied BS in Industrial and Product Design at Purdue University and oversaw several prestigious design events like the 2012 IDSA International Conference, "THE FUTURE IS...".
