He studied a Master's of Arts in Teaching English and Bachelor of Arts at Hamline University, which equipped him with a broad set of skills including organization, communication, and project management. He has worked at Project for Pride in Living for many years in various roles, including Associate Director of Affordable Housing, Program Manager, Program Supervisor, Services Coordinator II, and Services Coordinator. Prior to that, he served as a District AIDS Coordination in the Peace Corps.
