David Thoerig

David Thoerig is an experienced aerospace engineer serving as a Safety and Mission Assurance Engineer for the Gateway at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston. He holds a Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Houston, a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Maryland College Park, and completed Associate degrees in Pre-Engineering, Physics, and Mathematics at Hagerstown Community College.

With a diverse professional background, David has held roles such as the International Space Station (NASA) Flight Controller at Cimarron Software Services, Inc., Safety and Mission Assurance Engineer at J and P Technology, as well as various internships and research positions at organizations like NASA Glen Research Center, University of Maryland, and Lz Technology Inc. He has also contributed as a Teaching/Research Assistant for Dr. Bonnie Dunbar, a former NASA astronaut, at the University of Houston.

David Thoerig's expertise spans across software development, resource management, process development, training, safety instruction, international coordination, and materials in the aerospace industry. His technical skills include proficiency in Python, C++, XML, structures, CAD, SolidWorks, Mathcad, MATLAB, and finite element stress and frequency analysis.
