Rick Klau
Rick Klau is a veteran entrepreneur, product manager, and technology innovation expert with a wealth of experience across the tech industry. He began his career in marketing and business development roles before landing at FeedBurner, where he served as Vice President of Publisher Services. In 2007, Google acquired FeedBurner, and Klau transitioned to business development at Google before moving to product management. During his time at Google, Klau worked on several key products such as Blogger, Google+, and YouTube. After leaving Google, Klau joined GV (Google Ventures), where he was a Senior Operating Partner, advising and investing in startups.
In February 2021, Governor Gavin Newsom appointed Klau as California's Chief Technology Innovation Officer. He now leads the Office of Enterprise Technology, where he develops and implements strategies for innovation and technological advancements in the state.
Prior to his work in the tech industry, Klau studied International Affairs, French, and Law. He is also an advisor to several startups, including Rocket Lawyer, ELSA Corp, and 1sm.
