Marci Burton is a knowledgeable Crop & Soil Scientist, who has extensive experience in regulatory compliance throughout the supply chain from farm to fork. She is a graduate with a Master of Science (M.S.) in Soil Sciences from Oregon State University and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Earth and Environmental Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Ms. Burton started her career as a server and later promoted to a manager at a restaurant. With her passion for science, she switched to research, and worked as a Research Assistant at Oregon State University and a Research Associate at EDGElab. She also has hands-on experience as a Soil Scientist/Beach Morphologist at San Diego, California.
Ms. Burton then joined NSF International, where she has an impressive track record serving in several roles such as Certification Project Manager, Technical Reviewer, and Business Development Manager. Currently, a Senior Business Development Manager at NSF International, her primary focus is to facilitate sustainable and profitable food production, compliant with agricultural, environmental, and consumer standards and certifications. Ms. Burton has excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and can build consensus and support across multiple constituencies.
Ms. Burton’s expertise lies in field and laboratory investigations, data analysis, and resource management. She has a passion for developing environmental solutions, "Soilutions," that help promote sustainable farming and environmental practices.
