Michael Lupro, a highly educated and experienced strategist, has worked across various organizations and educational institutions throughout his career. Lupro studied for his Bachelor's degree in Creative Arts/Multimedia at San Francisco State University, after which he pursued his Master's degree in Geography at Portland State University. He continued his studies at Bowling Green State University, where he obtained his Doctor of Philosophy degree in American Culture Studies. Lupro also studied Sociology at the University of California, Santa Barbara, before attending University City High School.

Lupro has held several positions throughout his career, including his current role as an Associate Professor at Portland State University. Previously, he worked as a Futurist, Societal Development at The PEAK Fleet, Assistant Prof/Senior Inquiry Coordinator at Portland State University, and as a Lecturer at North Carolina A&T State University. He was also a Member/Team Leader/National Recruiter at AmeriCorps - NorthWest Service Academy.
