David Surls is a seasoned software industry professional with extensive experience in leading teams, managing multiple product lines, and delivering world-class software solutions to customers. After studying Mathematics and Chemistry at Berry College, he started his career as an Associate Manufacturing Engineer at Lockheed Aeronautical Systems Co. Over the years, he worked for several companies, including Energy Management Associates, Electronic Data Systems, NewEnergy Associates, Ventyx (a Vista Equity Partners company), ABB Enterprise Software, and PowerPlan, Inc.

During his career, David has demonstrated expertise in various areas, including commercial off-the-shelf software, full lifecycle management, agile and DevOps cultural transformation, legacy software modernization, SaaS migration, worldwide customer base management, geographically dispersed team management, roadmap development, vendor contract negotiations, interdepartmental collaboration, offshore and nearshore development, and merger and acquisition integration, among others. He has led organizations through periods of growth, downsizing, acquisitions and mergers, and major cultural transformations, building and rebranding small companies, moving from Waterfall to Agile methodologies, and shifting from on-premises solutions to SaaS.

David is a believer in customer success and leadership importance, supporting and rewarding his team members, and creating innovative and value-adding solutions that meet customers' needs. He has a B.S. in Mathematics and Chemistry from Berry College.
