As of August 2023, transitioned to Astellas Venture Management (AVM), Astellas' corporate venture arm. Time split between this role and previous Scouting & Transaction role until April 2024.

Engaging in corporate venture capital, investing in seed and series A stage companies developing therapeutics and platform technologies in areas of interest to Astellas. Scouting, conducting evaluation and due diligence, and presenting cases to AVM's Investment Committee. Negotiation and transaction of investments. Monitoring of investments and investee company progress through board representation. 

Elected to join the Investment Advisory Board of Rx+, Astellas' non-therapeutic division.

Followed Astellas' investment in Neophore, our small molecule oncology portfolio company. Ensured buy-in from research division. Liaised with internal legal and IP teams to ensure acceptability of terms. Ensured internal processes were followed smoothly to secure sign off and transfer of funds with minimal disruption.

My role here involves coaching students and RCA graduates in commercialising their design led innovative ideas and turning them in to investment ready propositions.

Definigen is providing industrial quantities of human liver cells for preclinical drug development and disease modelling applications using human Induced Pluripotent Stem Cell (hIPSC) technology.  These liver cells have a high degree of functionality without the supply issues of using primary cells, the ethical issues of using embryonic stem cell derived hepatocytes, or the functionality issues of using immortalised cell lines.

CEVP is Cambridge Enterprise's investor forum to showcase companies to an audience of Venture Capitalists and Business Angels.  We host three dinners per year normally within one of the historic Cambridge Colleges.  

The evenings start with presentations from three Cambridge companies.  The presentations are followed by dinner, where investors can engage in in-depth discussions with the presenting companies.  The dinners are rounded off with an after dinner speaker from the world of business, government or academia.  

With currently over £4bn of funds under management by members, CEVP is an excellent forum with a unique offering.

Grew occupancy of LBIC from 40% to 97% after taking over operations of LBIC following the sudden departure of management company. Managed relationships with more than 25 client and potential-client companies.
