Matt Mireles
Matt Mireles, a computer engineering graduate from The Ohio State University, is making waves in the cloud technology industry. Formerly a CTO of Serverless Technologies and Advocacy as well as a Senior Technical Staff Member of Open Cloud Technologies at IBM, Mireles is now part of The Apache Software Foundation as a Project Management Committee member and Committer for their serverless project, Apache OpenWhisk. He is also a security architect who specializes in cloud security standards such as Key Management, encryption, Identity and Access Management (IAM), Security Intelligence, Monitoring, Audit and Compliance, as well as content protection via AACS, UDDI, and transcoding.
One of his main contributions to OpenStack includes reviewing APIs for all core components, auditing cadf standards, and authoring the pyCadf library used by the platform. Mireles has been noted for his active involvement in the cloud orchestration part of TOSCA (cloud application orchestration) and has held different roles for the OASIS TOSCA Simple Profile Yaml, including being a chair and lead editor.
Mireles has been involved in the IT industry through numerous engagements, including hardware development as an intern for IBM Personal Software Division (PSD) and IBM Federal Systems Division (FSD). Mireles has a specific interest in MS Azure, another leading cloud computing company, and continues to be an OpenStack contributor/reviewer to this day.
