Nakia Douglas
Nakia Douglas is an accomplished education professional who has worked in various leadership capacities within the Dallas Independent School District and is currently leading TRIO and Pre-Collegiate Programs at the University of North Texas at Dallas. With a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Livingstone College and a Master's degree in Instructional Technology from Houston Baptist University, Nakia has a wealth of knowledge in implementing technology in the classroom for improved learning outcomes.
With over a decade of experience in school leadership, Nakia has served as Principal at various schools in Dallas ISD, including the Barack Obama Male Leadership Academy. Her passion for promoting equity and providing all students access to the best education possible has led her to her current role at UNT Dallas. As Executive Director, Nakia oversees TRIO programs, which aim to increase access to higher education for disadvantaged populations, and Pre-Collegiate Programs, which provide academic enrichment opportunities for K-12 students.
Nakia's commitment to education has not gone unnoticed, and she has been recognized for her achievements multiple times throughout her career. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants, and spending time with her family.
