Carmen Perena Cortes is a driven, passionate university student studying at the University of Washington, with a focus on Mathematics and Computer Science. She is also pursuing a minor in Data Science and Applied Mathematics. Carmen has a strong background in athletics, as a former professional gymnast at CGA Pozuelo. Besides her athletic background, Carmen is also an entrepreneur and creative problem-solver.
Carmen has worked as a Data Science Intern at Datassential, and previously at Microsoft and Public Health England. During her time at the University of Washington, she worked as an Undergraduate Researcher at the Bioengineering department and on the Washington Experimental Mathematics Laboratory team. Carmen also completed a Summer immersion program at Girls Who Code and studied Engineering at Universidad Pontificia Comillas.
Carmen's education, internships, and research experience make her a well-rounded candidate with a diverse skill set suited for Data Science.
